TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The Tour is open to male golfers over the age of twenty-one with an established handicap of 32 or less. All tournaments are a individual competition. The Tour uses a modified Stableford format. The player's handicap is subtracted from 54 to ascertain his points to pull. Points are awarded on each hole as follows:
double bogey 1 point
bogey 2 points
par 3 points
birdie 5 points
eagle 7 points
double eagle/ace 9 points
The tournament field is divided into flights. Normally the field will consist of flights with 14-25 per flight. Each flight competes within itself for both the overall tournament money as well as the "skins" game.
TOUR ROOKIE RESTRICTIONS
For players playing in their first event (and only their first event), the following applies: A player playing in his first event is subject to handicap/quota adjustment between Saturday and Sunday’s round. If adjusted, he will be notified by the Tour Director of his newly assigned quota. A player playing in his first event may participate in his flights’ skins game but not in the New Sheriff OR Sunday Tournament.A player playing in his first event, regardless of his overall score for the weekend, may not finish higher than THIRD place in his flight. A player playing in his first event IS eligible to win the hole-in-one pot IF he has paid his dues. After his first tournament, all restrictions are lifted.
COSTS
The Hacker's Amateur Golf Tour is a membership tour. Annual dues are $50 and the year runs from December through November. This amount covers: 1) trophies for the Player of the Year, runner-up and positions three through ten, 2) $5 in the hole-in-one pot and 3) a year's end banquet to be held in December in conjunction with our monthly event. For the 2019 season, all the monthly events will cost $120-$190. Tournament fees cover two days of golf, cart, range balls and tournament prize money. We also offer an optional $30 buy in which includes skins for both days, a Sunday tournament and prizes awarded for overall points (The New Sheriff) and closest to the pins prizes on all par 3s.
PRIZES
There are five tournaments/games played within each event. They are..
Each flight will pay either three or four places depending on the number of players in the flight. If paying four places, first place within the flight receives 40% of the flight's purse. Second place gets 30% while third place gets 20% and 4th place 10%. If paying three places, first place will receive 50% of the flight’s purse. Second place will get 30% and third place receives 20%
NOTE: Each player who participates in the optional $30 package will be in their flight skins for both days and in the Sunday tournament and the Overall Tournament (New Sheriff). The Sunday tournament works like this: Regardless of how you played on Saturday, there will be a tournament within the tournament on Sunday. The Player who scores the most points above his quota will win 50% of the Sunday purse. Second place gets 30% and third gets 20%. The Sunday Tournament - counts Sunday's round only, offers incentive to play well on each hole Sunday even though the player may have suffered through a tough round on Saturday and not be in the hunt for the flight prizes that weekend. The Overall Tournament (New Sheriff) - awards three places to those players who are the most over their quota for both days combined. The purse split is once again 50-30-20. Besides the tournament flight pot, the skins each day, the Sunday tournament and the Overall tournament, Hacker's Tour ALSO offers closest to the pin cash prizes on all par 3s.
LODGING
For each tournament, I will make special arrangements with a local hotel or motel or a discounted HACKER'S rate. Traveling with the Tour and staying at the same location is what really sets this tour apart from others. It gives you and your significant other a chance to get to know some of the guys and their ladies who make the Tour so much fun. I will provide brochures or telephone numbers for our lodging for the next few tournaments. This will give you ample time to call and make your reservations at the Hacker's special rate. I advise you to call early as the blocks are sometimes limited in number depending on the time of year.
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
The Hacker's Tour 2019 season will run from December 2018 at TimberCreek through November 2019 at the Rock Creek GC with our Player's Championship. Each participating player who completes a tournament, will receive points based on his flight and position of finish. For the four MAJOR events, DOUBLE Player of the Year points will be awarded. Results and yearly totals will be published via email after each tournament. At the conclusion of the 2019 November event, points will be totaled for the 12-month period. The Player with the most points will be designated the Hacker's Amateur Golf Tour's 2019 PLAYER OF THE YEAR. This Top Ten finishers in the Player of the Year race will all receive engraved trophies at the year ending Hacker's Tour banquet held on Saturday night of the December event in December 2019.
THE HOLE-IN-ONE POT
Five dollars will be taken from each member's annual dues to go into the Hacker's Hole-in-One pot. If we have 150 members paid up, there will be $750 in the pot. The first member to make a hole in one in a tour event and whose dues are paid will win the entire pot. No dues paid at the time of the ace--NO POT!Should we play the entire season with no winning ace, we will handle the purse this way. In the first event of the 2019 season we will have a closest to the pin on Sunday which will be playing for the entire pot.

CLOSING
With this intro to the Hacker's Tour, I've tried to anticipate many of your questions. I've also tried to stimulate your competitive juices by letting you feel how much fun you can have playing on the Tour.
PLEASE, READ THE FOLLOWING CLOSELY
Now let me tell you what we are looking for on our Tour. We want fellow golfers who want to play hard, play by the rules, play at a reasonable pace and who can have a good time with their friends when the round is over. If you are a whiner, a complainer, or a sourpuss, don't bother to enter the first event---this IS NOT the tour for you. I run this Tour because I enjoy it. I do not need the aggravation of people who try to make it a chore and not a pleasure. The integrity of the game and protecting the field is paramount to the Tour. If you are a sandbagger, you'll get one shot at us and you won't be invited back. If you are a cheater, you will not be tolerated on the Tour. Club throwers are not welcomed either and that will earn you a two-tournament suspension. If you're interested in joining, give me a call at 850-221-6110 during the day or 850- 995- 4488 at night. You are welcome to join us in our next event. Thanks for your interest in the Hacker's Golf Tour. I think if you look at our schedule and consider the fun you can have, you'll want to give us a try.
FORE PLEASE! Make sure you sign up for our inaugural tournament of the 2025 season at Gulf Shores!
